F. Rebar reinforcement
Placing and tying reinforcing steel to the engineering drawings.
Follow the engineering of the building drawings to determine where rebars must be placed in the wall, and follow all building codes. United States construction must conform to ACI 318 for design and placement. Canadian construction must conform to CSA A23.1 for design and A23.3 for placement.
Formtech recommends that the horizontal rebar placed in the second course should be tied to the footings. Place this rebar in the slot closest to the center slot and tie it to the rebar dowels or C-hooks in the footings. By alternating the position of the vertical rebars, a grid is established to accept the vertical rebar placement as the wall rises.
Always follow the specific plans and codes for proper rebar placement.
